I actually made this sauce for an Egg Fast recipe originally (I will be sharing that recipe soon!). But I've been using it for all sorts of others things since then! This sauce has a mild tanginess to it that I just cannot get enough of! It makes an excellent shrimp sauce and an even better sandwich/wrap spread! Try it on a turkey wrap! ;) It's completely Egg Fast-friendly because it's high in fat. If you use it for the Egg Fast, it makes quite a nice swap for mayonnaise. Anywhere you would use mayo, just sub this in.
Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise (I used Hellmann's Olive Oil Mayo)
- 1 tablespoon Splenda
- 1 tablespoon white wine vinegar
- 1 tablespoon butter, melted
- 1/4 teaspoon paprika
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
Directions:
- Whisk all ingredients together until thoroughly mixed. Store in refrigerator in an airtight container.
Yields: 8 servings (about 1 tablespoon per serving)

Why does my MFP tell me that this recipe is 113 calories per serving?
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure. MFP is also where my stats came from. It may be affected by brands. For example, I used Hellmann's Olive Oil Mayonnaise, but another type of mayonnaise may have a different calorie count. Alternately, the information entered for the product may not be "verified." For example, I know with Splenda, there are a ton of different caloric variations on MFP, and you have to find the correct one. This happens because people enter nutritional information into MFP, and sometimes mistakes are made. If you're doubtful, enter your own nutritional information instead of using one that someone else has entered on MFP. But I'm not so vain as to think that maybe a mistake wasn't made on my end, either. Many of these recipes have been entered into MFP more than once, but that's still no guarantee. That being said, even if it was 40 calories more, your main concern on an Egg Fast is high fat, and low carbs. Most of the time, calories don't affect the weight loss. The only time that the calories from an Egg Fast should affect the weight loss is if you were taking in very large quantities of calories, are extremely short, or have a small amount of weight to lose (less than 30 pounds).
DeleteThe olive oil mayo has 30 less calories per tablespoon. It also has 6 grams of fat where the original has 10. Very different.
Deletehow long can you keep this stored?
ReplyDeleteIf you keep this in an airtight container in the refrigerator it will last up to a month. :)
DeleteI enjoyed this. I also like mayo with Worchestershire, garlic powder, half a lemon squeeze, and pinch of sweetener, and hot sauce. Very si liar to Canes Chicken dipping sauce.
ReplyDeleteSounds delish!
DeletePardon my ignorance... but what kind of Splenda did you use? (Liquid, Packet, or Baking/Powdered)?
ReplyDeleteDo you know of something to substitue for the white wine vinegar? I have apple cider and white distilled
ReplyDeleterice wine vinegar is a great substitute, 0 carbs, and is very similar to white wine vinegar. Apple cider vinegar is not a good substitute & tastes different. also depending the brand, avg 1 carb per tablespoon. if an item has less than 0.5 carbs per serving, they can legally put 0 carbs even though it has them.
